What is KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection 10 mg/mL ?
Kybella™ is used as an injection like Botox or Fillers (Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane), etc… in the submental/“double chin” region to dissolve fat away and improve the overall contour of the neck, jawline in the Spokane and Tri Cities wa and Coeur d’Alene Idaho area. Traditional methods to treat excess fat in the neck and under the chin require liposuction and/or a neck lift. Not all patients are candidates for Kybella and safe surgical procedures performed by Dr Lundeby still may be necessary.
Shape is proud to offer Kybella to treat the “double chin”/submental fat to improve your overall jawline contour. Shape is currently treating patients with Kybella and has appointments available, as the interest is very high in reducing the appearance of a double chin and accentuating your natural jaw and neckline with the newest technique! Kybella™ plastic surgery is now offered in the Spokane and Tri Cities, WA and in Coeur d’Alene Idaho area at Shape Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa.
Is Kybella™ permanent or is it temporary like Botox™ and fillers™?
Kybella is a PERMANENT FAT DISSOLVING solution to a heavy neck/jawline. UNLIKE botox or dermal fillers, Kybella is permanent fat reduction, as long as your weight is maintained within a normal range.
What happens to the skin on my neck after a Kybella™ treatment? Will it tighten?
Fortunately, one of the added benefits of Kybella is that the neck skin tends to “lift”/tighten as healing occurs INSTEAD of deflating like an empty balloon. This adds to the overall benefit of the treatment.
What is the downtime after Kybella™ injections?
Most individuals have slight discomfort similar to other injectables for a brief period of time after the injection. For the first few days the neck will swell, compression will help with swelling within the first few days. Patients experience different degrees of swelling, but it is a normal part of the healing process.
How long does it take to see results?
Your results depend on the amount of excess fat you have under your chin, most patient’s require 1-4 treatments to see final result. The first few days are hallmarked by swelling and possible bruising. Most patients begin seeing positive results as quickly as 3-4 weeks post injection.
How many treatments are required?
Patients receive multiple Kybella injections (like Botox or fillers) in a single treatment. Most patients generally require 3-4 treatment sessions about one month apart to see their optimal results.
Do I have to have anesthesia or go to the operating room in order to have Kybella™?
Absolutely NOT. One of the beautiful things pertaining to Kybella is that it is not a surgical procedure and rather is an injectable similar to Botox injections or dermal fillers. If you are not a candidate for Kybella, you may be a good candidate for neck liposuction with/without a neck lift. Dr. Lundeby is a board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon who can provide you with ALL of your options when it comes to improving your neck and jawline definition.
