At Shape Cosmetic Surgery, we firmly believe that nurturing both your body and mind after undergoing a cosmetic procedure is incredibly important for your overall well-being. In today's fast-paced world, it can be particularly challenging for most of us to pause and slow down our usually hectic daily routines. We are a generation accustomed to the convenience of smart cars, smartphones, and tightly packed schedules. Many of us often dream about what it might feel like to take a few intentional days off from our busy lives to truly relax and recharge. However, how many of us can realistically accomplish this? And how many of us genuinely manage to relax when we are given the opportunity to do so?

Having a cosmetic surgery procedure may necessitate that you carve out those essential relaxation days and actually embrace moments of rest. Yes, this translates into intentionally “laying around the house and taking time to relax.” However, healing your body and mind can become unnecessarily stressful and challenging if you do not feel adequately prepared for your upcoming procedure. We wholeheartedly encourage you to express any questions or concerns you may have during your consultation or pre-operative appointment; you can also reach out to us via phone or email anytime. If you happen to have questions or concerns post-operatively, please remember that you can always contact Dr. Lundeby directly by calling our office at 509-458-7546.

To further assist you in your healing journey, we have compiled a few helpful tips:

  1. Rest or immobilize the specific part of your body that will be undergoing surgery, as advised by your doctor. This crucial step means diligently following Dr. Lundeby’s recommendations. If you have received weight restrictions for your upper body, it is imperative that you adhere to those guidelines. Following your post-operative instructions will facilitate a smoother and more effective recovery for you.

  2. Your body will naturally require additional sleep during this time!

  3. Feeling thirsty? It’s vital to drink plenty of water! Your body will need extra hydration to support its healing process during recovery.

  4. Nutrition plays an essential role in your overall recovery. Make sure to eat well-balanced meals.

  5. As you begin to heal and gradually return to your usual routine, it is wise to learn how to pace yourself more effectively. Be cautious and start out slowly, aiming to work a bit less than you normally would.
