Male Breast Reduction Procedures

At Shape we offer a wide range of procedure to help men with stubborn fat or skin in the male breast area. A male breast reduction brings back confidence with reducing a stubborn areas that diet and exercise struggle to remove.

CoolSculpting-Non-Surgical Male Breast Reduction Treatment:

CoolSculpting for men works to freeze fat cells while you relax and watch a movie at Shape. CoolSculpting was created to remove those stubborn fat cells in areas that diet and exercise have little effect on. Two treatments are very common for the male chest area with CoolSculpting. We recommend having your second treatment 4-6 weeks after the first  treatment. You will start to see results in as little as 6-8 weeks after your first treatment, with final result 3-6 months later.

CoolSculpting removes 20% of the treated fat cells by treating them with cold throughout your treatment. During treatment the goal is to have 20% of the fat cells membrane freeze and then dissolve naturally. Once the fat cells are dissolved this fat reduction is permanent fat reduction.

Liposuction-Surgical Treatment:

Liposuction is a permanent fat reduction procedure that Dr. Lundeby performs to target stubborn fat cells by manually removing with liposuction. Liposuction leaves very small incisions that once healed are hardly noticeable. Recovery from liposuction is generally a few days of relaxation before returning back to work. A chest compression garment is typically worn for a few weeks to reduce swelling and discomfort. Gynecomastia Reduction-Surgical Treatment:

Gynecomastia is normal in men and is breast tissue that is best treated with surgical removal. Dr. Lundeby uses liposuction and surgical removal of the “breast bud” if one is present. This treatment resolves the male chest area very nicely and leaves a smooth result. There are a few options for incisions, depending if a breast lift is needed to reduce loose skin.

Areolar incision- this incision allows easy access to remove the male breast tissue with liposuction and/or surgical removal of tissue. The areolar incision can also be used for a small removal of skin if needed.

Breast lift incision- When extra skin is present some patient’s will decide to have a male breast lift procedure. During this procedure male breast tissue is removed and extra skin to tighten the chest area. During the first two weeks we recommend no heavy lifting, you may return to work within a few days or when you feel up to returning.
